About NAF
Q. Is NAF a non profit?
A. Yes, NAF is a Georgia 501(c)non-profit corporation.
Q. When was NAF started?
A. Northside Athletes (NAF) was formed in 1991 to benefit Metropolitan
Atlanta area children, with an emphasis on youth programs involving
athletics. NAF provides assistance in the form of monetary donations and
volunteer time (mentoring, coaching, etc.) Typically, NAF has made its
donations to established youth organizations affiliated with hospitals,
little league and/or youth football athletic programs in need of capital
support.
Q. What percentage of money raised goes to your charities?
A. Approximately 90% of all money raised is paid out annually to our
designated charities. A portion of NAF's net annual income is allocated
to a fund, managed by a professional investment manager, in order to
establish a long term endowment.
Q. Do you have any paid employees of the foundation?
A. No. NAF is managed by a 14 person board of directors which meets on a
monthly basis. Officers are elected annually from this board. All time
provided by board members and their companies is contributed on a
charitable basis. No board members, including those providing legal and
accounting services, nor their companies, receive any financial
compensation from NAF. |
